De-Stress for Success Week begins on Monday, December 3. The week is filled with activities aimed to help our students decompress during the last week of the fall semester.

Here’s a brief preview of what is planned:

ALL WEEK (MONDAY-FRIDAY)

  • Board Games, Puzzles, Cards and Coloring: December 3-7, Graduate/International Student Lounge (Gearhart Hall 206). The lounge will be stocked with coloring pages, decks of cards, Slinkies, Dominoes, puzzles, Jenga, Connect Four, Scrabble, Chess, Checkers…there’s even a Rubiks cube.
  • Coffee and Donuts: 8 a.m.-5 p.m., December 3-7, Graduate/International Student Lounge. Students are invited to stop by the lounge throughout the week to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and grab a donut while they last. Coffee will be available until 5 p.m.; donuts are first-come, first-served.

MONDAY, DECEMBER 3

  • Dog Therapy with the Law Paws: 9 a.m.-11 a.m., Monday, December 3, Graduate/International Student Lounge. Graduate students and staff are welcome to visit with and pet the University of Arkansas Police Department dogs.
  • Career Advising Appointments: 12:30 p.m.-2:30 p.m., Monday, December 3, Graduate/International Student Lounge. Students can get help with your resume, CV, cover letter, or interview tips. Appointments can be made online at Handshake for priority, but walk-ins are welcome.
  • Let’s Talk with CAPS: 2 p.m.-4 p.m., Monday, December 3, Graduate/International Student Lounge. This great program offers brief, informal consultations with a licensed mental health clinician. Consultations are free, no appointment is necessary, and students and staff are seen on a first-come, first-serve basis.

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 4

  • Intro to Yoga with Megan: 12 p.m.-1 p.m. and 6 p.m.-7 p.m., Tuesday, December 4, Graduate/International Student Lounge. THURSDAY, DECEMBER 6

  • Play Day Fun: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., Thursday, December 6, ARKU Connections Lounge. Join Pat Walker Health Center’s CAPS for henna tattoos, yoga demonstrations, coloring, Legos, popping bubble wrap, and of course play dates with dogs from Fayetteville Animal Services. Free food will also be available. Mental health professionals will also be available to help discuss stress-relieving tips with students and staff.

 All events are free and open to the campus community.
